An Introduction to android apps

The Android operating system is developed by the Open Handset Alliance led by Google and is one of the most popular open source operating systems for mobile devices. The Android kernel is based upon the Linux kernel while the libraries and the Application Programming Interface (API) are written in C. Java compatible libraries are included in the application framework upon which the application software runs. But the most important feature of Android OS is the Android Applications and with numerous software professionals working for android application development a wide array of applications are now available for android mobile devices. At present approximately 300,000 android apps are available for android users and more are expected to being introduced as android apps development has reached a new height in the last few years.
The developers generally use java and the android Software Development Kit (SDK) for the purpose of android application development though it can be done by the use of other developer tools too like the Native Developer Kit or the Google App Inventor. Another important element in the android apps development procedure is that the android applications generally run from inside a sandbox which is an isolated area in the OS and cannot access the system resources by default. Though there are some apps that require accessing the system resources and in those cases the user must grant the application permission to access certain areas in the system resources.
Another reason behind the exponential growth in popularity of android application development is that being an open source OS, the android developers can download the technology and the SDK for android application development for free and that is also the reason behind the cost effectiveness of the android apps. There is another reason behind the immense popularity of the android apps development and that is these applications are most of the time so effective that even the basic function of the Smartphone and other mobile devices such as tablet PCs can be changed drastically and can provide the device with a whole new set of functionality.
Being open source and cost effective at the same time is considered to be the primary reason behind the ever increasing popularity of android application users as well as the number of people engaged in android application development. Most of the android apps come very cheap and with a twenty four hour money back offer that is if the user doesn’t like the application and uninstalls it within twenty four hour of purchasing it then he or she will get a hundred percent money refund. This is a very significant criteria for android apps development because the underlying message is that one needs to develop practical and meaningful applications to sell them out and as more and more android application development companies are popping up the competition in the sector is stiff but there are around one hundred and ninety million android users in the world right now and a lot of things can still be done as Google is trying its best to become the number one search engine for mobile and handheld devices too.
